Quilts and Smiles

Judy,Fran,Lloyd and Doug from Barriere,B.C.

The arrival of the quilts from Barriere,B.C.

It was another week of quilts and smiles. I love seeing these smiles and know by the smiles what these quilts are doing for everyone . It was an extremely busy week beginning with lots of quilts being picked up that had been choosen at the quilt show. More names were added and still more quilts choosen. We had a total of 97 new quilts arrive including 86 that Judy &Doug and Fran &Lloyd delivered from Barriere, B.C. They made a holiday of it and even spent a couple days here in Slave Lake. They had lots to share having gone through the fire there 8years ago and a few of the ones that lost their homes here in Slave Lake  came in and met them. Thank you fro making the trip out here and was so great to meet you.
As of Saturday, August 27th 359 households have received their quilts along with 307 children from these homes for a total of 666 quilts having been gifted.  Approxiamately 850 -900 quilts have been donated so far. I have established a better system of keeping track of the ones coming in and I appoligize that initially I wasn't writing all the numbers that were coming in down and just keeping a running total in my head  so therefore the estimate. Also it seems likethere is  a large number  that haven't been given out but majority are younger children size that are remaining .
Please let me know if you or someone you know donated this quilt. This lady is the lucky recipiant and she loves it.
